Laughing is Fun! Creative ways to add humor to your projects.

In this presentation, Shane discusses comedic principles and techniques that can be used to brainstorm, create, and add humor to your writing skills and projects. Shane shares examples from his own work, as well as others, and allows participants a chance to try out what they learned. This presentation is perfect for writing workshops, festivals, and conferences for adults.

Shane Williams recently presented a very entertaining and informative media lecture presentation at the St George Literary Arts Festival held on Sep 7, 2023 in St. George Utah at the Dixie Museum. As an experienced presenter and author of many humorous children’s books, his slide show gave students, authors and poets new ideas to use from his lecture presentation entitled Laughing is Fun-Creative Ways to Add Humor to Your Writing.  It was most enjoyable, entertaining and educational. I’d highly recommended Shane Williams as a presenters or standup comic for any level audience from children to adults.

Thank you Mr. Williams for the very entertaining and motivational presentation that you gave to our students.  They were very engaged and enjoyed your poems.  The books I have of yours in my classroom have become class favorites.  I have one particular student that does not like school and struggles with his motivation.  He was very intrigued with your poems and enjoyed visiting with you at the end.  It was fun to see a spark of excitement in his eyes.  Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Cafferty

Shane's 7 R's of Writing Funny Poetry Workshop

Shane teaches his “Seven R’s of writing funny poems” which shows the children brainstorming techniques, the importance of rhyme, rhythm, rough drafts and revising. Shane motivates the kids to write and helps them get started by brainstorming and writing as a group and then individually. This workshop is geared toward kids ages approx 8-12 years old in groups of 30 max.

The first graders loved your presentation.  Sadie, my fifth grader, was able to do the afternoon workshop with you.  She already loved writing but you helped her to enjoy it even more. Thank you!
